Chenonceau from the Cher – Chenonceau depuis le Cher

photo_222_chenonceau_frontThis is my favourite view of Château de Chenonceau taken from the bike path. Of the “four C’s” – Chenonceau, Chambord, Chaumont and Cheverny, I think Chenonceau is the one I prefer, but the other three are not far behind!

Chenonceau is fantastically photogenic, and this is one of the best angles. I’d be hard pressed to say if this view is my favourite. I like the view from that side of the river but on the other side of the chateau if the light conditions are right, and the view taken over Catherine de Medici’s garden towards the chateau. So Chenonceau wins in the photography stakes, but for me Cheverny is the winner overall for visiting.

@William. Thank you.
@Susan. Yes, I like the view you mentioned too, but I haven’t managed to be there when the light conditions are right.
@Stuart. We got there by bike. You continue along the main road in front of Chenonceau, leaving it on your right, then take the first large road on your right after the village which takes you over the bridge over the Cher. Turn immediately right and you’ll see the walking/bike path on the bank.
