Postcard from Porto – São Miguel

Today we hired bikes and went for a ride along the seafront but the bikes weren’t wonderful and the bike path didn’t start until the lighthouse built in the 16th century, one of the oldest in Europe. We had lunch at the main port north of Matosinhos where there are lots of little restaurants with barbecues at the side on which they grill sardines to Jean Michel’s delight.

usually bikes come with the Gites we hire in the past we have not used them but this year we had a go must have been at least 15 years since we owned bikes and the one’s at the Gite were not the best….
