The sign inside this traditional French restaurant in Rochecorbon near Vouvray called L’Embarcadère says “Choose your bottle in the cellar and enjoy!” What a great way to present a large selection of local Loire Valley wines!
J’aime bien l’idée d’aller choisir sa bouteille à la cave dans ce restaurant traditionnel à Rochecorbon à côté de Vouvray. Il s’agit de l’Embarcadère. Quelle façon merveilleuse de découvrir un grand choix de vins de la Vallée de la Loire !

This is a “traditional Italian restaurant” in Blois, near the cathedral, and the chef, I presume, is a graduate of the French Pizzaïolo School. It appears to be called Prodotti Freschi which means fresh products, a strange name for a restaurant. I haven’t tried it yet.
Voici un restaurant traditionnel italien à Blois, à côté de la cathédral. Le nom semble être Prodotti Freschi, ce qui veut dire des produits frais, nom étrange pour un restaurant. Je ne l’ai pas encore essayé.
I noticed this window of a local restaurant today on Place Louis XII in Blois proposing Loire Valley wines. I thought the blue very cheerful on a dull day.
J’ai remarqué aujourd’hui cette devanture de restaurant local Place Louis XII à Blois qui propose des vins du coin. Je trouve ce bleu bien gai un jour aussi maussade.
We didn’t have cheese at L’Orangerie in Blois last night, but it looked like a very nice platter!
Nous n’avons pas pris de fromage à l’Orangeria à Blois hier soir mais le plateau semblait très sympathique.

We came across this little courtyard when walking in the old part of Blois. The fairy lights belong to a restaurant to the right of the photo so we’ll be back in the summer to try it out!
Nous sommes tombés sur cette petite cour en nous promenant dans le vieux Blois. La guirlande appartient à un restaurant à droite de la photo. Nous reviendrons en été pour le tester !
There are four or five restaurants one after the other at Chambord and they now all have the same grey tables and chairs and white parasols to match the slate roofs and white stone façade of the château!

I thought Le Gabriel, opposite Gabriel Bridge in Blois, looked very inviting as we drove past recently (Parmentier de canard = shepherd’s pie made with duck).
J’ai trouvé que Le Gabriel en face du pont du même nom à Blois, avait l’air très accueillant lorsque nous sommes passé devant récemment.

This lovely art deco glass dome is in the Café Univers in Tours, which dates back to 1896. The rest of the café restaurant has unfortunately been decorated in a more modern style, however.

When I first saw this building in the northern suburbs of Blois, I thought it was covered in graffiti, then I realised it was an African take-away.
