Halloween is not a traditional French festivity and I remember when it was first introduced in the 1990s. A French businessman bought out a party trick company which included lots of items for Halloween and launched a publicity campaign. It’s been going strong ever since although it is not nearly as popular as it is in the USA. I saw this at a vegetable stall in Blois market today.

Halloween n’est pas une fête traditionnelle en France. Je me rappelle son introduction dans les années 1990. Un homme d’affaires français a acheté une société de farces et attrapes dont un grand nombre d’articles d’Halloween. Pour les vendre il a lancé une grande campagne publicitaire. La fête s’est beaucoup développée mais n’a jamais été aussi populaire qu’aux États-Unis. J’ai vu cette belle sculpture au marché de Blois aujourd’hui.
