photo_40_porcupine_chaumont_fireplaceAnother porcupine symbolising Louis XII, cette time on the painted fireplace mantle in Château de Chaumont.

Un autre porc-épic le symbole de Louis XII cette fois sur le manteau d’une cheminée peinte au château de Chaumont.

Well I was just about to send you my photo of the porcupine at Chaumont, but I see you already have it ! Mine is just like yours, except that yours is better !

I vaguely remember another one over the porch as you walk in – I thought you were talking about it. I’ll just have to go back!

There was also a plaster casting of the porcupine on display in one of the main rooms. I don’t know if it’s still there. I don’t remember the story behind it… and I didn’t take a photo of it.
