Day #9 – In transit from Germany to Denmark

Today was a long day because we had to take the long route to our home exchange north of Copenhagen; there were no tickets available for the ferry by the time we thought of booking – 500 k instead of 300 k. There was also a lot of roadwork going on. So instead of our usual lunch stop in an interesting place to visit we stopped off in the border town of Flensburg for a coffee and picnic. I couldn’t have chosen a better café with its shady garden or a better lunch spot in a Volkspark that we reached via a little path winding up through woodland and offering a plunging view of the town. Our alternative route took us across the 18 k long Storebaelt bridge with its 33 euro toll. The last photo was taken in a Danish motorway service station. It took us eight hours altogether.
