34_bird_shopYou may remember a photo I took of a stall at the Blois Christmas market that I said I’d go back to. I was very taken with the handmade miniature garden birds. I did go back and we bought five little birds that we know well – the coaltit,  crested tit, goldfinch and nuthatch love the fat balls and sunflower seeds we put out for them and the egret can often be seen on the banks of the Loire. When walking through the historical quarter of Puits Chatel on Saturday, I was delighted to see their permanent abode – Ateliers Créations, at n°1 rue Pierre de Blois, just next to a Renaissance door that has also appeared here.

Rosemary was with me at the time. We didn’t go in, but we ‘licked the windows’ well and truly. I already knew the shop, but didn’t realise that Rosemary only knew them from the market. I posted a similar photo on my blog because I share my family name with the people who own the shop. I must ask them one day if we are related (if we are it will be way back in the Middle Ages :-))

It would be so amusing if you had a MIddle Ages connection!

No, not this time but I know where to find them!

The shop link features the goods and a short video (Boutique) that gives a tour around the shop and through the lovely doorway and a bit of the quaint street outside. I’d want to buy something but spoilt for choice. I like the birdbox in half timbering like your Jan 11th photo.

I have bought a flat to rent to overseas visitors in a nearby street. There are many lovely places in the area!
