Postcard #24 – Görlitz

Gorlitz is on the German-Polish border. This is taken from the Polish side looking forwards the German side. The Polish town is called Zgorzelec but is very different. The second picture is my favourite building in Gorlitz, built in 1550, with its two sundials. It used to be the Ratsapoteke or Town Hall Pharmacy, but is now a restaurant where we had a delicious meal.
Gorlitz se trouve à la frontière germano-polonaise. J’ai pris cette photo du côté polonais en regardant vers le côté allemand. La ville polonaise s’appelle Zgorzelec mais elle n’est pas du tout pareille. Le bâtiment dans la deuxième photo est mon préféré à Gorlitz, construit en 1550, avec ses deux cadrans solaires. C’était le Ratsapoteke à l’origine (pharmacie de l’hôtel de ville) mais maintenant c’est un restaurant où nous avons très bien mangé !
