Chambord Fountains

Fontaine Caroline Chambord

A neighbour told us about the Caroline Fountain in the grounds of Château de Chambord, dated 1825 and bearing the inscription: “like your kind deeds, my beneficial waters will never dry up” – or at least that’s what we think it means! A cryptic inscription indeed. I tried to find out more, to no avail. All suggestions welcome!
Un voisin nous a parlé de la fontaine Caroline dans le parc du château de Chambord datée de 1825 et portant l’inscription: “ainsi que tes bienfaits mes ondes salutaires ne tariront jamais”. J’ai fait des recherches pour en savoir plus sans aboutir. Toutes suggestions seront les bienvenues.

I think it must refer to Charles X. 1825 was the year of his coronation and his grandson and eventual heir was the Duke of Chambord. Alternatively, the Duke of Chambord’s mother was called Caroline so it may refer to her. Plus, his assassinated father, the Duke de Berry, was called Charles.

@Susan. Thank you. I was surprised how difficult it was to find anything about her. I agree that the dates seem strange at the end of the link.
