The Vine Wreath – Vigne en couronne

226_vigne_rondeWe stopped at our favourite post mill in Bléré yesterday (see below) and I saw this little winegrower’s hut opposite that I had never noticed. I love the wine trained in the shape of a wreath – not to mention the wind vane!

I’m impressed that they got it to do what they wanted. I have noticed that our plants and flowers have a mind of their own!

We have a windvane that is something that sort of resembles Old Father Time the one famously above Lord’s Cricket ground. A house a few KMs away has a man in a deckchair. There are a few cockerels about.

I’d love to have a photo. Our windvane, which I have posted on several occasions has a lock and a feather, symbolising the previous owners’ professions of locksmith and secretary. It was made by the Jacky, the locksmith. Since it is on the barn we see it from our living room window every morning. It is one of our favourite objects, not only because we like the way it looks, but because of its origin.
